Low budget Canadian thriller starring Brenda Vaccaro and Don Stroud, also known as The House by the Lake. Stroud excels as the alpha male in a pack of nasty rednecks who launch into a spree of assault and murder after being run off the road by Diane (Vaccaro) and her weekend date, Harry the dentist (Chuck Shamata). Unaware of the trouble to come, the couple arrive at Harry’s country house, where Harry photographs Diane in the shower through a two-way mirror. Diane, tired of rejecting Harry’s persistent advances throughout the day, decides to leave, but Stroud and his gang arrive to get revenge. Unusually for the era, Vaccaro’s character is strong and self reliant, and after Harry is murdered by the gang, she escapes the house and plans her own revenge.
